Consequent upon amendment to the Salary, Allowances and Pension 03
Members of Parliament Act, 1954, rail travel facility as available to Ex. Menmbers
Parliament are as under:-
(a) with effect from the 18h day of January, 1999, entitled along wich a companisn
to travel in any train by any railway in lndia in air-conditioned two-tier class; or
(b) entitled to travel alone in any train by any railway in India in air-conditioned fiest
class,
without payment of any charges on the basis of an authorization issued der this
purpose by the Secretariat of either House of Parliament as the case may be.
3. Ex. Members of Parliament may accordingly be allowed to travel either n
IInd AC along with a companion in the sane class or in Ist AC for self only witheut
payment of any additional charges in any train, on the authority of Ex. MPs’ Phote
Identity Cards issued to them by Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha Secretariat, as the case tany
